Our Own World

I sat beneath that great rock
Where we used to laugh and joke
Around all throughout the days gone by.
I will remember the way we stood our ground
In each other’s time of need.
And how well your smile looked when I arrived
At the bottom of that great waterfall,
Where we used to swim around until
The bright blue moon shown his face.
But I won’t see the same moon that you will see,
For we have parted and gone different ways.
Our lives have gone free, apart from our togetherness.
How I miss those nights under the clear sky
Saying what was on our minds.
Not wondering about yesterday or tomorrow.
When your lips touched mine, I felt free.
We never spoke until we were out of breath,
And even then we wouldn’t speak a word.
Just being there in his arms
Made me feel at peace with nature.
I still lay there, wondering, thinking
Of how my life would be complete
If only I could look into your eyes one last time
And say what I’ve always wanted to say…
How much I love you and wish we could be together again.
